ARCHIVED - Over 1,000 fines for non-compliance with Covid restrictions this weekend in Cartagena and Murcia
Not wearing a mask correctly continues to attract the most penalties
During the weekend local police of Murcia and Cartagena have yet again been busy issuing fines to those who continue to contravene the coronavirus restrictions; in Murcia city the Local Police have filed 920 denuncias this weekend and in Cartagena police filed 91 sanction documents.
In Murcia city 314 of the penalties related to not wearing a mask or doing so incorrectly and 224 for not respecting the curfew, set between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. 16 denuncias related to failing to comply with territorial restrictions (ie crossing borders into Alicante province); 280 for meetings between non-partners and 86 for occupation of vehicles by people who do not live in the same address.
In Cartagena, Local Police agents filed a total of 91 sanctions ; breaking the curfew and meetings of non-cohabitants, both inside homes and on public roads, accounted for the highest number of denuncias in Cartagena.
A hospitality establishment was amongst those sanctioned for failing to respect the closing hours and nine sanctions were filed for groups exceeding two people sitting on terraces related to bars and restaurants.
