100 more offences in Cartagena as people continue to break curfew and fail to wear facemasks
The Policía Local in the city of Murcia report that they issued 1,134 fines to members of the public for failing to obey pandemic restrictions over the weekend, almost exactly half of them (574) concerning instances of failure to wear a facemask properly or at all.
A further 272 people were caught disobeying the night-time curfew, which until this Wednesday lasts from 22.00 to 6.00, while 27 fines were related to people crossing the boundaries of the Region of Murcia and there were 163 cases of too many people from different households gathering together as well as 98 of too many occupants from different households in motor vehicles.
In Cartagena, meanwhile, the local police force report 100 infringements of pandemic restrictions over the weekend, 57 of them concerning people disobeying the curfew. 10 cases were detected of bars or restaurants failing to implement the curfew or the limits on customers indoors, while another 4 received fines for allowing too many people at one table and 3 for allowing customers to smoke on outdoor terraces.
The Cartagena police report only 8 cases of there being too many occupants in motor vehicles and just two of people disobeying the restrictions on inter-regional travel.
It should be remembered that as of this Wednesday the only municipality in the Region of Murcia which is closed to people entering or leaving is Puerto Lumbreras, but travel in and out of the Region itself is still not permitted except in certain circumstances.
