It will be warm and wet in Murcia this week, with rain forecast almost every single day
Welcome to ‘veroño’. It’s not quite verano but it certainly doesn’t feel like otoño autumnal weather. The temperatures are around – and in excess of – 30ºC/86ºF during the day and even minimum temps will be on the rise across the course of this week. After the dreadful flooding the Murcia Region saw last week, the warm weather would come as a relief if it were dry, but in fact the muggy conditions will be accompanied by persistent rainfall on and off.At first, on Monday October 3, the rain in Murcia will be limited to where it normally falls – in the northwest of the Region around Caravaca de la Cruz – while the Mar Menor and the east of the Region will be sunny and clear. But those regions in the north and west that do get rain will be on yellow alert this Monday afternoon for the risk of storms.Murcia weather forecast, Monday October 3These sunny, slightly overcast conditions will spread to the whole of the province on Tuesday October 4, but by Wednesday the rain will be back. At first it will set in heavily with thunderstorms near San Javier, Santiago de la Ribera, Cartagena and La Manga on Wednesday morning, but then by the afternoon it will have spread to the rest of the Murcia Region.Murcia weather forecast, Wednesday October 5A brief break in the rain on Wednesday night will provide little respite as Thursday and Friday bring heavy rainclouds all day long, along with the chance of some sunshine, though there is a chance that the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) will issue a weather warning for one of these days.Murcia weather forecast, Thursday October 6It will clear up somewhat for the weekend, but a lot could change by then and everything points to the return of more rains for next week too.Minimum and maximum temperatures in Murcia this week
- Monday October 3: Min 12ºC; Max 32ºC
- Tuesday October 4: Min 12ºC; Max 30ºC
- Wednesday October 5: Min 13ºC; Max 29ºC
