ARCHIVED - Pandemic stable in Murcia: 109 new cases and 1 further fatality in the 4th May update
78 of the latest cases are reported in the municipalities of Murcia and Cartagena
The overall stability in the coronavirus situation in the Region of Murcia continued in the latest update published at lunchtime on Tuesday 4th May, with a higher number of new confirmed cases than has generally been the case lately offsetting the lower figures published over the weekend.
Another 109 positive diagnoses were returned, 49 of them in the municipality of Murcia itself as well as 29 in Cartagena, 7 in Lorca, 5 in Alcantarilla and 3 in Yecla. These results came from a total of 3,029 PCR tests, giving a positivity rate of 3.6 per cent.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases rose again to 705 following the most recent tests, with 79 patients receiving hospital treatment, 24 of them in intensive care units.
Unfortunately, the death of a 62-year-old man in the municipality of Murcia takes the pandemic toll in the Region so far up to 1,594.
