ARCHIVED - Regional president Ximo Puig receives his vaccine along with other 60 to 65-year-olds in Valencia
The mass vaccination campaign starting on April 19 will administer 185,000 doses in the region of Valencia this week
The president of the Comunidad Valenciana, Ximo Puig, received his Covid-19 vaccine this Monday (April 19) in the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in Valencia, which has been turned into a mass vaccination centre.
The regional president shared an image of himself receiving his first shot on Twitter, and he also disclosed that the vaccine he received was manufactured by AstraZeneca.
Sr. Puig, who is 62 years old, has received his injection in accordance with the age group currently being vaccinated with their first shots in the region of Valencia using this vaccine: the 60 to 69-year-olds.
According to a statement made by the regional president, more than 185,000 doses of AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are to be administered in this next stage of the vaccination campaign.
During the mass vaccination starting from this Monday (April 19) in the region, the 70 to 79 age group will be receiving 68,000 first injections, plus 55,000 second shots ; a further 16,000 doses will be destined to finish vaccinating the remainder of the over 80’s and the dependant groups. In addition, 40,000 AstraZeneca vaccines have been allocated for the 60 to 65-year-olds with additional second shots for essential services groups.
