Date Published: 10/10/2024Roman Amphitheatre and Isaac Peral house to open: What's new for Cartagena tourism in 2025
The city continues to add new cultural and tourist attractions each year
The famous port city of Cartagena is quickly turning into a tourist hotspot as a record number of tourists have come this year, and more is to come next year for the Cartagena Puerto de Culturas project, as it will incorporate the Isaac Peral House (one of the city’s greatest and most eagerly awaited projects) and the opening of the Roman Amphitheatre (a staple in the Cartagena tourist attractions). Both attractions will have a fixed entry system, which will be added to the current impressive list of museums, interpretation centres and resources that tourists can visit in Cartagena: the Roman Theatre; the Forum District; the Fuerte de Navidad; the Punic Wall Interpretation Centre and the Castillo de la Concepción; the Civil War Shelters; the Casa de la Fortuna; and the Augusteum, as well as the catamaran, the lift and the tourist bus.The opening of these two new spaces is the main feature of the Cartagena Puerto de Culturas budget for 2025, which comes to 2,414,600 euros – a growth of 3.9% compared to 2024.The increase in the budget is mainly concentrated in the transfer from the City Council to the consortium, which grows by 70,000 euros to reach 590,000 euros and whose increase will be used to cover the opening of the Casa Natal de Isaac Peral and the management of the Amphitheatre.Furthermore, sales revenue are forecast for 2025 at 1,824,600 euros , i.e. 6,700 euros more than this year, taking into account, on the one hand, that, although the rates have been updated, income has been lost from free opening timetables, which between July 23 and October 8 have meant 24,278.50 euros less income for the Consortium. In total, since July 23, 4,474 visitors have had free access to these spaces, which is equivalent to tickets worth 24,000 euros, money which has stopped being collected and of which just over 18,000 euros correspond exclusively to the Roman Theatre. For more information, news and whats’s on visit our homepage at Murcia TodayImage: Ayuntamiento de Cartegena

Cartagena tourism information
Where to find basic tourism information and information about historical sites and places to visit in Cartagena, Spain.
Cartagena has a wealth of historical sites, including the Roman Theatre Museum, Archaeological Museum, ARQUA Subaquatic Archaeology Museum, Panoramic lift, Civil War Air raid Shelter and Military and Naval Museums, as well as Tourist Bus and Tourist Boat which ferries visitors across to the Fuerte de Navidad.
There is one main Tourist Information Office and 2 tourist information points, the main one being in the Muralla Púnica Interpretation centre in Calle de san Diego and the other next to the Civil War Air Raid Shelter and Panoramic lift.
The office in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento is the easiest place to pick up a map if you've come into the port from a cruise ship, and has a few basic leaflets, but not a lot else.
The information point for the Puerto de Culturas attractions is by the Panoramic lift and Civil War Air Raid shelter in Calle Gisbert, although maps and leaflets are available at any of 3 information points.
There is plenty of in depth information about Cartagena in the dedicated Cartagena section, accessed via the map box at the bottom of every article page or by using the town search box at the top of the page. the introduction gives basic information about the city and then readers can select from the subjects below for information about the city, or the rest of the municipality.
