Serveo company takes full ownership of control tower management at Corvera Airport
The company already manages the navigation centres at several airports throughout Spain

The company which already manages the air traffic control towers at Alicante, Valencia, Ibiza, Sabadell, Córdoba, Lleida and La Seu (Andorra) has officially taken 100% control of the navigation centre at the Region of Murcia International Airport in Corvera.
The infrastructure services company Serveo has this week acquired 50% of the joint venture FerroNats from the British Nats, its shareholders announced on Wednesday February 1.
According to Serveo - owned by the Portobello fund (75%) and Ferrovial (25%) - the acquisition of the company reinforces its commitment to the sector and to the Region of Murcia and consolidates its position in this business area.
The announcement came just two days after air traffic controllers at 16 airports across Spain, including Corvera, went on strike over pay disputes. The industrial action began on Monday January 30 and will continue every Monday in February – on Monday 6, 13, 20 and 27.
While the strikes will undoubtedly cause some disruption in the coming weeks airport bosses are nonetheless banking on a busy 2023 and have set their sights on the British, Italian and French markets to increase passenger numbers.
Despite record visitor numbers to the Region last year, Corvera’s passenger levels fell far short of pre-pandemic figures, and four million euros has been earmarked for campaigns aimed at boosting the number of flight routes with Europe.
