ARCHIVED - Spain holds one minute silence for health workers who have died during the pandemic on Wednesday
Throughout Spain a one minute silence will be observed on International Nurses Day.
Spain’s General Nursing Council is calling for a minute’s silence on Wednesday, May 12 to pay tribute to all the health professionals who have died during the pandemic.
The tribute, which will take place at noon across Spain on International Nurses Day, will also honour those who have been, “risking their lives and fighting day after day for more than a year,” to help end the pandemic.
Thousands of health professionals have been amongst the 3,581,392 confirmed cases of coronavirus registered in the country since the pandemic began, with nurses, doctors and ancillary staff amongst the 78,895 fatalities reported in Spain as of Monday May 10.
