Sporting facilities on the La Torre Golf Resort (Non-golf)
Swimming pools are plentiful and tennis courts are free of charge
Of course the main sporting attraction on La Torre Golf Resort is the 18-hole golf course, but there are also a number of secondary sporting facilities for those with other interests.As well as the small swimming pools on some individual villa plots, there are sixteen communal pools serving the whole resort. Only residents on the resort are allowed to use these, and there are frequent checks by resort personnel to check that this rule is observed, so be sure to wear your special resort wristband at all times when using the pools and gardens.
The two tennis hardcourts just off Calle Cazón are free for residents, but have to be booked in the security office at the main entry gate, at the northern end of La Torre. Again, you will need to show your wristband in order to make the booking. Bookings can be made 48 hours in advance. Tennis courts are open every day of the week, Monday to Sunday 8am–10pm .
There are two paddle tennis courts inside the resort, located at the intersection of Calle Emporador and Calle Denton. Padel courts are open from Monday to Saturday 10am–10pm and on Sundays 11am–10pm.Also, in nearby Roldán there is a club which offers pádel facilities for between 10 and 18 euros an hour, depending on the time of day and whether floodlighting is required. The same establishment also has a gym and organises various aerobics and spinning classes.
Cycling is an attractive and easy option for getting around La Torre Golf Resort, and there are paths all around the different residential areas to make this a safe and easy option. Take care not to stray onto the golf course: this not only annoys golfers, but can also be extremely dangerous!
Bicycles can be rented in advance and will be delivered to the property directly, together with helmets.
Onsite there is a gym and sauna in the hotel, and massage treatments are also on offer in the wellness centre. The hotel pools (one outdoor, one indoor) can also be used by residents and visitors alike: passes can be purchased in reception for 10 euros a day for adults and half-price for children.
