ARCHIVED - Summer under way in the Costa Cálida with temperatures set to reach 35 degrees
Barely a cloud in the sky in Murcia in the early part of this week
As the official start of the summer approaches on 21st June there is no room left for doubt that the long hot beach season is under way in the Costa Cálida, with maximum temperatures forecast to reach the mid-30s and night-time minimums of around 20 degrees throughout the Region of Murcia.
Aemet are forecasting barely a cloud in the sky on Monday as afternoon highs reach between 30 degrees on the coast in Cartagena and 34 in Yecla, in the north of the Region, and it is along the coastline where there is least relief from the heat during the night as minimums are expected to be around 22 degrees. Similar conditions are expected on Tuesday 15th June and on Wednesday, despite the probability of cloud cover and even some scattered showers in inland areas, the top temperature in the city of Murcia is likely to reach 35 or 36 degrees.
Looking slightly further ahead there may be a little more rain on Thursday, but this will not affect the temperatures to any great degree and there will certainly little need for raincoats!
