ARCHIVED - Temperatures continue to plummet in Andalusia: weather forecast January 24 to 28
Malaga and Sevilla are amongst provinces also on yellow and orange alert for extreme wind and waves this week
Temperatures are expected to continue plummeting in the vast majority of Andalucia over the next few days, with parts of the region also on yellow alert for coastal phenomena and Force 7 winds.
According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), Mercury will reach its lowest in Granada on Monday January 24 where temperatures will drop to a chilly minus two degrees, and no higher than 14°C.
Cordoba is also feeling the cold pinch, with temperatures falling to 2°C at night, although climbing to around 16°C later in the day.
Elsewhere in the region, minimums of 4°C are being experienced in Jaén, 6°C in Almeria and seven in Sevilla. In contrast, the latter is expected to reach the highest temperature in the region with 20°C, although the province, along with Cadiz, is on yellow alert for coastal phenomena due to strong winds along the coastline.
Malaga, Granada and Almeria are also on yellow alert for swell with waves of up to three metres and Force 7 winds on Tuesday January 25. In Granada and Almeria the alert is intensified to orange later in the day.
Looking ahead, Aemet has forecast wintry precipitation, firstly in the western part of the region and then in the east as the week progresses.
