The church of Playa Honda
An open-air church in Playa Honda on the shore of the Mar Menor
The church of Playa Honda is a curious, modern, mostly open-air structure located just off the main Avenida 
Julieta Orbaiceta which runs diagonally through the development down to the beach. It stands next to a large square between Calle Río Tajo and Calle Río Jabalón which is sometimes used for events and meetings in the summer (see map), and which is also the main bus and coach stop for Playa Honda.
Mass is held in the building, which unfortunately receives plenty of attention from vandals and graffiti artists
during the winter, only in the months of July and August at 20.30 every day, with an additional service on Sundays and religious holidays at 10.00 in the morning.
