Peñas Blancas, in the Lomas de las Carrascas hills, is the highest point of the municipality, reaching 625 metres above sea level, and those reaching the summit will enjoy not only the geological beauty of the white rock faces and the richly varied flora and fauna, which include birds of prey nesting in the rocks, but also unrivalled views out over the countryside and the bay of Mazarrón.
Starting point: Carretera del Cedacero, in the car park of the "La Vieja Hacienda" restaurant at 9.00.
The walk will last between three and four hours, and is of medium to high difficulty, with steep uphill climbs.
This activity is free of charge.
