Colonial style and historic elegance
It´s construction dates back to a period when the affluent middle classes from the cities started to visit the seaside to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of bathing in the warm waters of the Mar Menor, the Balnearios stretching out into the sea on stilts, ensuring bathers a modicum of decency as they entered the warm waters.

Front terrace just 15 metres from the sea
The hotel has several dining options, ranging from a front terrace dining area, just 15 metres from the beach, an inner courtyard offering shaded and planted open air dining, which is extremely popular on sultry summer nights, to an elegant indoor restaurant, popular in the winter months and an excellent location for parties or special social events.
The Restaurante La Encarnación is a flexible venue in terms of both timetable and the style of cuisine, offering good value for money with various different dining options:
Weddings
The perfect spot for your wedding or other special occasion set right on the beach. Dating back to when the Hotel was a popular spa resort with thermal baths – the location is perfect for getting married against a backdrop of sun, sea, and sand.
The Hotel offers specialised packages for any occasion. Your choice of catering – from buffet to formal dinner – and accommodation, and the size of your party can all be handled professionally by the staff.
For weddings, the happy couple has two main options: beach or courtyard. The beach is on the Mar Menor and as such benefits from the golden sands, clear waters and beautiful sunshine typical of this part of Spain.
The inside courtyard garden option is much more private, and cooler and greener. Whatever your choice, the hotel will set out the themed seating and arrange the catering to your requirements. Both civil and religious ceremonies can be provided.
Lunchtime gastronomic menu
There are two gastronomic taster menus, consisting of aperitifs, starters, first courses, main courses, sorbets and desserts. These are priced at 26 euros and both include drinks.
Special recommendations which often feature on the menu include:
House salads, aperitifs and starters.
First courses: grilled octopus, baby cuttlefish with broad beans...
Main courses: turbot with grape sauce, beef sirloin with foie de gras and Madeira sauce, Mediterranean rice dishes, pasta...
Desserts: the chef decides the daily options, such as chocolate soufflé with Tahiti vanilla ice-cream, plus a wide variety of fruit, ice-creams, etc...
And of course the wine cellar and liqueurs are of the quality you´d expect in such a historic establishment.
The restaurant is able to easily cater for groups or special occasions, with a menu tailored to suit the event.
In the evenings, A la Carte is available, with a wide selection of Fish, meats and rice dishes on offer, including the Caldero murciano, which is the rice and fish dish produced by local fishermen, a simple dish, but requiring a large amount of fish per head to make the strong, distinctive stock in which the rice is cooked.
Expect to pay around 35-40 euros a head for an evening meal.
Every Thursday and Friday there is Jazz in the restaurant between 8 and 10pm and on Sunday evening there is live flamenco dancing from 8pm.
