The SaorÃn painting museum in Jumilla
The museum is devoted mainly to the works of local artist Jesús Lozano Saorín
This museum, which opened late in 2017, was created to display work not only by local artist Jesús Lozano Saorín, who was born in Jumilla in 1957 and after whom it is named, but also by various others from the area and to include sculpture as well as canvases in its exhibits.
The intention is for this to be a “living” museum, and eventually a third room will be added for temporary exhibitions: a conference hall is also envisaged. Another project is the holding of an international painting and sculpture festival in order to raise funds for the acquisitions of new works to place on display.
Guided visits of the museum can be reserved by telephoning 660 959631.
