La Armada Hoy is open to the public free of charge at the Museo Naval in Cartagena
La Armada Hoy, an exhibition informing the public of the current duties and activities of the Spanish Navy, is open in Cartagena at the Museo Naval until June 30 with admission free of charge.
The exhibition consists of 11 information panels which have already been displayed for two months in the port of Ferrol, and after June will be moved to other important naval bases in San Fernando, Las Palmas and Sevilla.
Among the topics covered are Maritime Security along the 8,000 kilometres of coastline in Spain, the country’s role in Operation Atalanta to counter pirate attacks in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and the Western Indian Ocean, the Marine Force established by NATO to stop the advance of Daesh, Operation Sra Guardian (an international maritime security operation in the Mediterranean), Standing NATO Maritime Groups (SNMGs), Personnel, Logistic Support and Intendencias (the departments that support the Force in financial and economic-related issues).
The exhibition is open in Cartagena from Tuesday to Friday between 9.00 and 14.00 and on Saturdays from 10.00 to 14.00.
