In a video showing North American viewers where the Spanish volcano is supposedly erupting, an interactive map slowly zooms in on the Murcia region on the Spanish mainland while the presenter read that “many on the volcanic island have lost everything” without noticing that the map clearly didn’t show an island. Her colleague who was actually on the La Palma island reporting didn’t correct her either.
Amused spectators commented on Twitter congratulating CBS News for winning International Geography Award of the Year and decrying that the Mediterranean Sea is nowhere near the Atlantic Ocean.
