ARCHIVED - VIDEO: Female German tourist left unconscious after being strangled during violent street robbery in Malaga
A woman has been arrested for her alleged involvement in the brutal distraction robbery on the Costa del Sol
A woman has been arrested in Malaga after a female German tourist was throttled until she lost consciousness during a violent street robbery in the city centre.
The suspect allegedly "kept watch" while her male "accomplice" assaulted the female victim, a brutal attack that was captured on a nearby hotel's CCTV.

The security cameras captured shocking images of a young man approaching the foreigner from behind, putting his arm around her neck and exerting pressure.
The victim, who was walking back to the hotel where she was staying, tried to use her hands to free herself from the attacker, but after a few seconds she fainted and lost consciousness.
A second person then appears in the video, believed to be the woman who was arrested on Monday November 28 for her alleged involvement in the robbery using this dangerous 'modus operandi' known in Spain as the 'mataleón' technique.
According to police sources, the woman can be seen "looking around and in surrounding alleys" to make sure there were no potential witnesses, thus acting as an accomplice to the robbery.
In fact, the footage shows that, while the man is rummaging through the tourist's belongings, his accomplice realises they have been spotted and starts to pull at the mans arm, indicating they have to flee.
On seeing what was happening through the video surveillance, a hotel employee ran out to help the victim with two colleagues, scaring off the thieves and preventing them from taking her handbag.
The victim regained consciousness a few seconds later and, after being comforted by the hotel staff who called emergency services, gave a statement to the National Police.
The hunt is still on for the male attacker.
