ARCHIVED - Wet and cloudy week ahead for the Region of Murcia: forecast January 24 to 28
Widespread rain is being forecast for the entire Region of Murcia
After a drizzly and cold weekend for most of the Region, cloudy skies have continued into Monday January 24, with the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicting widespread rain across most of Murcia, especially along the coast.
Light showers on Monday afternoon are set to give way to more intense rain throughout the night and in the early hours of the following morning. Tuesday is expected to be the wettest day by far in the Region, with Aemet predicting heavy downpour with around 95% certainty, except in the Altiplano, which is expected to evade most of the wet weather this week.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the forecast is less certain but there are likely to be some leftover rain clouds in some areas, including in the Northeast and the Valle del Guadalentín.
However, the good news is that this rainy weather is accompanied by slightly milder temperatures, ranging between 10ºC and 14ºC during the day and between 5ºC and 10ºC at night. The maximum temperatures along the coast, in municipalities such as Cartagena and Mazarrón, are expected to reach up to 15ºC.
By Friday January 28, Murcia residents should be able to put their umbrellas away as Aemet predicts a relatively sunny start to the weekend with temperatures of up to 17ºC.
