The La Torre Golf Resort is in the Region of Murcia, (Región de Murcia) in the south-west of Spain. The resort is located within the municipality of Torre Pacheco, which forms part of the Comarca del Mar Menor. The Mar Menor is Europe’s largest salt water lake, and is separated from the Mediterranean sea by a narrow channel, so although the water is still salty, it is non-tidal, providing superb sailing conditions and safe bathing, with dozens of soft sandy beaches, which slope very gently into the water.
This stretch of coastline is known as the Costa Cálida, or warm coast, Murcia being the warmest land-based region of Spain throughout the year. ( as opposed to the islands of the Canaries, Balearics)
The La Torre Golf Resort is located between the city of Murcia and San Javier on the C-3319 dual carriageway, meaning the Mar Menor and Mediterranean beaches are only about twenty minutes away.
The capital City of Murcia is a similar distance to the north, and the major coastal port of Cartagena is about half an hour away to the south, all of them easy to reach on the Region’s motorway network.
Closer to the resort are the small towns of Roldán and Balsicas, which can be reached in about five minutes by car, and there are at least eight other golf courses within half an hour’s drive.
The resort is also within twenty minutes of San Javier airport, and if and when the new Region of Murcia International Airport at Corvera replaces San Javier, it will also be just 20 km away by road. Alicante airport is just under an hour away by either the inland route or the coastal motorway, where some sections require the payment of toll charges.
There are no direct public transport links
It is strongly recommended that car hire be considered if holidaying in the resort as the public transport system is limited and a hire car offers much greater flexibility.
