ARCHIVED - Yellow alert for thunderstorms in northern Murcia on Monday
Maximum temperatures likely to reach the high twenties in most of the Costa Cálida
The State meteorological agency Aemet has issued a yellow alert warning for possible heavy thunderstorms in north and north-western Murcia on Monday August 3, beginning at 15.00 and lasting until midnight.
The storms are more likely to occur in the mountains and on higher ground, and at the same time temperatures are expected to be similar to those recorded on Sunday throughout the Costa Cálida, perhaps dropping slightly as cloud cover increases during the day. Maximums are forecast to reach the high twenties throughout the Region and to climb above 30 degrees in the city of Murcia.
Night -time lows will drop to 16 or 17 degrees in Yecla and Caravaca de la Cruz but will remain above 20 in the remainder of the Region.
