ARCHIVED - Yellow warning for winds and coastal phenomena in Alicante
Winds reached 100km/h on the Costa Blanca over the weekend
Gusts of wind reached 100km/h in the Valencia region's La Pobla de Benifassà on Sunday morning, November 28, according to the State Meteorological Agency, as the yellow warnings for high winds remain in place.
Alicante province was particularly affected by the strong gusts over the weekend, reaching 73 km/h in Vilafranca. Elsewhere, Morella recorded winds of up to 67 km/h; Atzeneta del Maestrat (62 km/h); Alicante-Elche Airport (61); Javea (60); Orihuela (57); Segorbe (55); Alcoy (52); Rojales (50); Villena (46); Pego (45) and Chelva (44).
Meanwhile, Aemet has updated the adverse phenomena and warnings in force. It has issued a yellow alert level for winds and coastal phenomena on the north coast of Alicante and the interior and coast of Valencia, with gusts expected to reach 70 km/h, and snowfall in the interior north of Castellón.
