ARCHIVED - Yellow weather alerts for rain in Murcia: Weekend weather forecast September 22-25
The rain and thunderstorms are forecast to last all weekend in Murcia
A yellow alert has been issued for heavy storms in the Region of Murcia this Thursday, September 22, beginning at midday and lasting until the evening.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued this yellow weather warning for rainstorms in the Altiplano, Northwest and Valle del Guadalentín, Lorca and Águilas, noting that the probability of thunderstorms is 40-70%.
A yellow storm warning indicates that severe thunderstorms are expected in the affected warning area. The rains in Murcia are forecast to last for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
Occasional showers accompanied by thunderstorms are expected on Saturday and Sunday, and are more likely to be especially intense in the north of the Region and fleeting on the coast in areas like San Javier and Cartagena.
While for the moment the alert for heavy storms has only been decreed for Thursday, in some parts of Murcia the rainfall will persist and not let up for almost the whole weekend.
It will not be until the evening of Monday September 26 when the rains in Murcia finally abate, according to the current Aemet forecast.
