ARCHIVED - Dead body found on Aguilas nudist beach
The man was found lying on the ground, bruised and without vital signs, in the Marina de Cope area
A person walking along a nudist beach in Águilas found a dead person in the sand this Wednesday, October 5, according to police sources.
The body was found at around 6pm in the Marina de Cope area, with those who made the discovery phoning the emergency services immediately that there was a man lying on the ground, bruised and without any vital signs.
An ambulance was mobilised to the scene, and when the medics arrived they confirmed that the man was dead.
The coroner on duty was alerted and also went to the scene. The remains were taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Murcia for the autopsy to confirm the cause of death.
The Guardia Civil said that they are aware that someone had died on the Águilas beach, but that it was not a violent death. It seems that the man suffered an indisposition, suspected to be a heart attack, possibly while swimming in the sea.
Authorities are awaiting the results of the coroner’s report to corroborate this.
