ARCHIVED - WATCH: Huge wild boar emerges from the sea in Malaga in front of stunned beachgoers
No-one was hurt during the boar's subsequent sprint across the sand on the Costa del Sol
Once again, wild boar have made a shocking and bizarre appearance on the Costa del Sol to the total bewilderment of locals and tourists alike.
A peaceful afternoon on Benajarafe beach in the Axarquia area of Malaga province took a wild turn just after midday on Wednesday August 10 when a huge boar suddenly raced from the water towards sunseekers, beach towels and umbrellas.

After emerging from the water in scenes captured by one stunned beachgoer and shared online, the animal ran off across the sand and hid in the thicket of reeds near a petrol station.
Despite having to navigate people and their belongings, the boar managed to make his getaway without stumbling or causing any injury or damage to property.
However, 112 Emergencias received a number of calls from the public reporting the presence of a wild boar on Benajarafe beach next to Bar Mediterráneo restaurant.
The Local Police, Guardia Civil, and staff from the animal collection service and road maintenance were called to the beach to look for boar, but there have been no reports of anybody finding the animal.
Wild boar sightings are becoming more common, and also on Wednesday, locals witnessed a similar scene in Fuengirola, also in Malaga province. At around 11pm, they reported seeing a family of six wild boars strolling through a botanical garden next to the Miramar shopping centre in in Calle San Manuel.
And in June, a 67-year-old woman had to be treated for a leg wound after a boar ran from the sea onto the beach in Albir, Alicante province. Again, the boar fled the scene.
