ARCHIVED - 3,000-kilo drug shipment intercepted off La Manga coast
The drug boat was caught near Tomás Maestre port in San Javier, Murcia
Around 3,000 kilos of hashish have been found hidden in a boat off the coast of La Manga del Mar Menor, in San Javier, and the two passengers have been detained by the Guardia Civil.
The drugs were found in a boat near the Tomás Maestre port (km 13 of La Manga) this Sunday November 21 and Guardia Civil officers have since inspected the vessel and weighed the illicit cargo, which came in at around 3,000 kilos distributed in close to 100 different packages.
The two detainees are facing charges of crimes against public health and the authorities are still investigating whether anyone else was involved in transporting the drugs.
