ARCHIVED - 33 degrees forecast for Murcia on Friday!
Temperatures climbing across the Costa Cálida
The changeable weather which dominated March and April in the Region of Murcia appears to have been substituted by mainly clear skies and noticeably warmer temperatures, and Aemet are forecasting maximums in the high twenties and low thirties as the weekend approaches.
On Thursday 6th May the expected highs are up to 27 or 28 degrees in the city of Murcia and in Caravaca de la Cruz and 25 in Lorca and Yecla, and although the figure quoted for Cartagena on the coast is “only” 22 degrees the bright sunshine will make it feel somewhat warmer and at midday the thermometers were already reading over 20 in San Javier, Torre Pacheco and Águilas.
By Friday maximums are forecast to rise again to 24 in Cartagena, 28 in Yecla, 29 in Caravaca de la Cruz and Lorca and 33 in the regional capital: after a couple of months of umbrellas and windcheaters it’s suddenly time to dig out last summer’s shorts and t-shirts!
