Accommodation in Lorca: hostels and youth hostels

Accommodation in Lorca: hostels and youth hostels

Three official youth hostels on the Lorca coast and in the mountains and high plains inland

The vast municipality of Lorca contains three “albergues” or youth hostels, located in three very different places and illustrating the variety of landscape in the area.

These hostels are the following:

Albergue Juvenil Casagrande

Address: Plaza de Coy, s/n, Coy, Lorca

Telephone: 646 775737

Email: reservas@alberguesdelorca.com

Web: www.alberguesdelorca.com

Sleeping capacity: 56

This hostel is located in the far north of Lorca, 40 kilometres from the city, in a large refurbished 18th-century house in the centre of the village of Coy. As well as the dormitories there are also toilets and washing facilities, a library, a dining-room, a TV room and various other facilities.

Albergue Puntas de Calnegre

Address: Carretera Puntas de Calnegre-Ramonete, Lorca

Telephone: 646 775737

Email: reservas@alberguesdelorca.com

Web: www.alberguesdelorca.com

Sleeping capacity: 73

From the far north to the far south: this hostel is on the coast in Calnegre, where Lorca boasts some of the least spoilt beaches in the Spanish Mediterranean, and is ideal for water sports enthusiasts and for exploring the countryside and the mountains of the Loma de Bas. The sleeping quarters include facilities for those of limited mobility, two-bed rooms and dormitories for 4, and there are also a restaurant, room cleaning service and a laundry room.

Albergue Juvenil Casaiglesias

Address: Paraje de Casaiglesias, s/n, Diputación de La Culebrina, Lorca

Telephone: 646 775737

Email: reservas@alberguesdelorca.com

Web: www.alberguesdelorca.com

Sleeping capacity: 56

This hostel is right out in the wild in one of the least inhabited areas of Lorca, in the mountains of Sierra del Gigante, which reaches almost 1,500 metres above sea level, three kilometres from the reservoir of Valdeinfiernos. The hostel is equipped with a swimming pool, a restaurant and dining room, and a camping area apart from the indoor accommodation.
