The Town Hall of Águilas, in keeping with the great efforts made in recent years to encourage recycling and responsible consumerism, has launched a scheme to build its own Christmas tree decorated with 1.5-litre plastic bottles which have already been painted or otherwise decorated by people at home.
The initiative has been created in conjunction with the Ecoembes recycling company and the local Afemac mental health association, the aim being to build an 8-metre tree in the Plaza de Antonio Cortijos. Anyone wishing to take part can simply leave their bottle(s) at the Oficina de Atención Ciudadana between now and next Tuesday November 28.
