ARCHIVED - Alhama provides rental aid for victims of gender violence and other vulnerable social groups
The town has shown its commitment to helping the most disadvantaged with a comprehensive housing welfare scheme

The Town Council of Alhama de Murcia, through the Department of Social Welfare, has begun today, Monday May 16, to make the referral to the charity organisation Caritas of people in vulnerable situations or victims of gender violence to help them get special assistance in paying their rent.
For those who have been the victims of domestic abuse and members of other vulnerable groups in society, it can be tough to work, make ends meet and pay the rent. For that reason, Alhama Council is committed to improving the quality of life for those who most need it.
This aid is also intended to facilitate access to housing and ensure the permanence in the home of those vulnerable people who have been severely affected by coronavirus. It is up to the Social Services centre to assess the situation of each applicant and determine the fulfilment of the requirements, in order to refer those people who are likely to benefit from them to Caritas.
For information and guidance on how to apply for this aid, it is necessary to go to the municipal centre of Social Services, by calling 968 631 895 to make an appointment, during opening hours from Monday to Friday from 9am to 2pm. The Social Services centre will provide further information on all the requirements to be fulfilled, the documentation to be presented and the corresponding forms.
