ARCHIVED - Alicante airport police take down wanted Polish conman coming on flight from Ireland
The fugitive took out several mobile phone contracts and sold the free high-end devices before fleeing to Spain

The National Police have arrested a wanted Polish fugitive at Alicante-Elche airport as he arrived in Spain on a flight from Ireland this week. The conman had a European Arrest Order for Extradition issued upon him back in 2020 by the Polish authorities for fraud crimes.
The fugitive was nabbed by officers who were carrying out routine passenger inspections at Alicante airport, and on running his details discovered that he was wanted for taking out contracts with numerous telephone companies in 2011 and 2012, receiving free high-end mobiles and selling them on without ever paying a penny.
The 37-year-old fugitive has been placed at the disposal of the Central Court of Instruction and faces two years in prison.
