AndalucÃa weekend weather forecast July 9-12: Heat warnings ease but temperatures stay high
Some relief for Cádiz as the wider region cools slightly, though Almería, Córdoba, Jaén and Málaga remain on alert
This week brought barely a break, with warnings covering almost every province. This weekend offers a modest step down in intensity, though don't mistake that for anything resembling cool. Temperatures remain well above comfortable across much of Andalucía, and heat warnings are still in place for a good chunk of the region as the weekend gets under way.Thursday July 9
Andalucía maximum temperatures, Thursday July 9Partly cloudy or clear across most of the region, with some morning mist and low cloud drifting in along the Atlantic coast. Active heat warnings cover Almería, Córdoba, Granada, Jaén and Málaga, while Cádiz sees a notable drop in maximum temperatures, which will come as a relief to those on the western coast. Tarifa and the Strait of Gibraltar are in for strong westerly winds from midday. Winds are light and variable on the Mediterranean side, with moderate intervals building through the afternoon.
Friday July 10
Andalucía temperatures, Friday July 10Skies stay largely clear or partly cloudy, and temperatures either dip slightly or hold steady. Jaén, Córdoba and Málaga keep their heat warnings, but the worst of the week's intensity is fading. Seville should see conditions that are uncomfortable but more manageable. Winds are light westerlies for most of the region, with moderate gusts along the Mediterranean coast.
Saturday July 11
Andalucía temperatures, Saturday July 11A bit more cloud today, with mid- and high-level cover increasing towards the end of the day and low cloud hanging around the western third through the morning. Temperatures tell a split story: the eastern interior sees both minimums and maximums nudge up, with Jaén hacing a weather warning, while Huelva and the Málaga coast see a more noticeable fall in the afternoon peak. Winds stay light and variable, picking up to moderate intervals in the afternoon.
Sunday July 12
Andalucía temperatures, Sunday July 12Largely settled, with partly cloudy skies and cloud building over the northeastern mountains. Granada sits under those developing clouds, while Almería could see some coastal fog first thing. Temperatures are broadly unchanged, with Huelva seeing a slight rise. Winds remain light and variable throughout.
A week that started with the region locked in a heat vice is ending on a somewhat gentler note. Not cool, by any stretch, but the worst of the warnings are beginning to lift.
