AndalucÃa weekend weather forecast October 1-4: Unsettled and showery as October settles in
Storm warnings for the eastern provinces open the weekend, with rain and cloud persisting through Saturday before a quieter Sunday
The cooler, cloudier pattern that arrived in Andalucía this week isn't going anywhere quickly. October opens on a grey note this Thursday, and this weekend continues in the same vein, with active storm warnings for the eastern third to start things off and widespread rain through Saturday before conditions ease a little on Sunday.Thursday October 1
Andalucía weather forecast, Thursday October 1A lively start to the period. Cloudy skies with scattered light rain across most of Andalucía, clearing from west to east through the afternoon. The real action is in the east, where cloud builds in the mountains during the day, bringing thunderstorms and locally heavy showers. Weather warnings for rainfall and storms are in place for Almería, Granadaand Jaén. Low cloud lingers along the Mediterranean coast through the morning, more persistent around the Strait of Gibraltar. Temperatures see little change. Winds are light and variable throughout.
Friday October 2
Andalucía weather forecast, Friday October 2Partly cloudy skies, but the eastern half remains unsettled. Showers and thunderstorms are possible in the mountains, with a chance of locally heavy rainfall in the eastern third again. Light to moderate rain is possible across the southeastern half of the region more broadly. Seville, well away from the worst of it on the Atlantic side, reaches a still-warm 35°C, showing that October hasn't entirely shaken off summer in the west. Maximum temperatures fall along the Mediterranean coast, holding steady elsewhere. The Strait of Gibraltar and eastern Mediterranean coast see strong easterly gusts, with very strong gusts possible in exposed spots. Huelva stays largely clear of the rain.
Saturday October 3
Andalucía weather forecast, Saturday October 3The rain spreads more widely today. Cloudy skies and widespread light rain are likely across Andalucía, heavier inland and in the Strait of Gibraltar area, where thunderstorms are possible. Cádiz and Tarifa are firmly in the firing line for that Strait activity. Temperatures change little, though minimums nudge up in the western third. Winds are light and variable across most of the region, with moderate easterly winds in the Strait and along the eastern Mediterranean coast, and occasional strong gusts.
Sunday October 4
Andalucía weather forecast, Sunday October 4A quieter close to the weekend. Very cloudy skies remain, but the rain becomes much more limited, with just a chance of light showers in the eastern mountains and around the Strait, possibly with a thunderstorm. Córdoba and Málaga both see broadly unchanged temperatures and a calmer feel after the weekend's more active weather. Winds stay light and variable, with moderate easterlies in the Strait and occasional strong gusts.
A weekend that keeps the umbrella firmly in the bag rather than the wardrobe. The east bears the brunt of it, but nowhere in Andalucía is entirely untouched this weekend.
