AndalucÃa weekly weather forecast October 12-15: Settled start gives way to coastal rain by midweek
A warm and largely clear Monday and Tuesday make way for returning cloud and showers along the Mediterranean coast from Wednesday
After a relatively gentle weekend across Andalucía, with temperatures holding in the high twenties and only the coast keeping forecasters busy, this week opens in much the same calm spirit. The early part of the week looks settled and warming, though Wednesday and Thursday bring a return of cloud and rain to the Mediterranean coast as an easterly flow picks up.Monday October 12
Andalucía weather forecast, Monday October 12A good start to the week. Partly cloudy skies with intervals of high cloud and the chance of some low cloud and morning fog, clearing through the morning. Temperatures are rising across most of Andalucía, a welcome nudge upwards after the mild weekend. The exception is along the Atlantic coast, where minimum temperatures ease slightly. Seville, sitting in the heart of the Guadalquivir valley, benefits from the improving warmth. Light to moderate westerly winds in the Strait of Gibraltar and light and variable winds elsewhere.
Tuesday October 13
Andalucía weather forecast, Tuesday October 13Another largely settled day, with partly cloudy skies and high cloud intervals. Cloud develops in the inland mountain ranges during the afternoon, but nothing significant is expected. The Mediterranean coast sees intervals of low cloud with a slight chance of occasional light rain, though it's unlikely to amount to much. Huelva on the Atlantic side stays dry and comfortable. Temperatures continue rising or hold steady, with only the higher western mountain areas seeing a slight dip in maximums. Moderate easterlies in the Strait of Gibraltar, occasionally strong, and light and variable winds in other parts.
Wednesday October 14
Andalucía weather forecast, Wednesday October 14The mood shifts. The Mediterranean coast becomes the focus, with low cloud and light to moderate rain likely there through the day. Inland and to the west it stays mostly clear, with cloud building in the mountains during the afternoon. Temperatures see little change or edge slightly lower across the board. Winds turn easterly and moderate in the province of Cádiz and along the Mediterranean coast, with light and variable winds elsewhere. Jaén, tucked inland, should stay largely dry while Málaga and the coast have a wetter Wednesday.
Thursday October 15
Andalucía weather forecast, Thursday October 15Much like Wednesday in character. Low cloud and light to moderate rain continue on the Mediterranean coast, and the mountains see increasing cloud during the day with occasional light rain possible. Temperatures ease in the eastern third while holding steady elsewhere. Minimum temperatures dip locally in the eastern half of the region. Easterly winds strengthen to moderate in Cádiz province and along the Mediterranean coast. Tarifa and Almería are both in the path of those easterlies, though the far west and Atlantic side remain largely unaffected.
A week of two distinct halves. Monday and Tuesday offer some of the best of autumn in Andalucía, warm and clear, before the coast returns to the grey and drizzly pattern that's been a recurring theme through October.
