AndalucÃa weekly weather forecast June 1-4: Very hot inland, brighter on the coast
Hot conditions build again, with temperatures rising sharply in the west and coastal breezes taking the edge off in places
After the hot spell at the end of May, Andalucía starts June with more of the same, although there will be a little more cloud about at times. The big story is the heat inland, where temperatures surge in the Guadalquivir valley, while the Mediterranean coast sees the warmest spell later in the period.Monday June 1
Andalucía temperatures, Monday June 1Partly cloudy skies are expected, with cloud building later over the eastern mountains and a small chance of an isolated shower. Low cloud may linger along the Mediterranean coast, while temperatures stay broadly steady. Córdoba and Seville are both set to hit 39°C, with Huelva at 36°C and Jaen at 37°C, so heat warnings are very much the main concern. Light winds will turn westerly at times during the afternoon.
Tuesday June 2
Andalucía humidity, Tuesday June 2Cloud breaks up a little, leaving partly cloudy skies with intervals of high cloud. Temperatures rise along the Mediterranean coast, where Málaga could reach 37°C and Almería about 32°C, while the Atlantic side should ease back a touch. Winds stay light to moderate from the west, becoming moderate to strong near the Mediterranean coast.
Wednesday June 3
Andalucía weather forecast, Wednesday June 3It looks a bit more comfortable for many areas, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures generally lower, especially for the afternoon highs along the Mediterranean coast. Cádiz should sit at a more pleasant 25°C, while most other provinces remain above 30°C. Winds are variable and generally light to moderate, so it should feel calmer than earlier in the week.
Thursday June 4
Andalucía weather forecast, Thursday June 4Cloud increases again at times, with intervals of mid and high cloud and some morning low cloud along the eastern Mediterranean coast. Temperatures rise sharply in some coastal areas but ease back elsewhere, while nighttime values change very little. Tarifa should see a pick-up in westerly winds at around 25kph, and breezier conditions spread more widely along the coast later on.
The heat remains the main talking point, but the coast should get a bit of relief from the breeze now and then.
