Take in the views and history of the guided scenic walking tour of Cabezo Gordo and Cuerva del Agua
As part of “Torre Pacheco descúbrelo” (Discover Torre Pacheco) this is a guided walking tour of Cabezo Gordo. This Protected Landscape is of great natural, scenic, paleontological and cultural interest.
The tour will include the second most important site of Neanderthal Man after Atapuerca, called La Sima de las Palomas.
The tour will proceed up to a viewpoint that is next to the Sima, with unrestricted views over the farmland of the Campo de Cartagena and the surroundings of the Mar Menor. In addition, the tour will visit the Cueva del Agua, an old mine with a natural water lagoon which is home to a colony of bats.
Tour starts: 10:00 a.m.
Meeting point: Parking Cabezo Gordo. South slope.
Duration: 2- 2.5 hours approx.
Note: Price €3 (Children up to 3 years free).
You must wear comfortable shoes and take water and a flashlight.
