Welcome ToCARTAGENA
Throughout the summer of 2022 an exhibition is being held at the Muralla Púnica centre in Cartagena entitled “En Busca de los Tesoros Perdidos” (Raiders of the Lost Treasures), featuring more than a hundred items and memorabilia related to the films of the legendary archaeologist and adventurer.
The exhibition centre becomes the hangar of Area 51 for the duration of the exhibition, displaying objects collected over the years by Rubén Molins, who became obsessed with the Indiana Jones films as a child. Among them are the iconic hat and whip which accompanied “Indy” on all of his adventures, and each object is displayed alongside a QR code which allows visitors to learn more about it.
In this way, for example, it is explained that George Lucas’ original idea for the character was that he would be a Manhattan millionaire travelling the world in search of lost artifacts, and that this was modified by Steven Spielberg to make Indiana a professor – the name being taken from Goerge Lucas’ dog at the time.
Other information concerns the Thug culture, the worship of Kali in India, the story of the stones of Sankara, the Crusades and the Holy Grail and many more fascinating insights.
En Busca de los Tesoros Perdidos opens to the public every day of the week at the Muralla Púnica centre, with admission priced at 3.50 euros.
