ARCHIVED - British extremist loses extradition battle from Spain
Kris Kearns faces 15 years for terror charges when he is shipped from Spain to the UK

Liverpudlian Kris Kearns, 37, has lost his battle against extradition from Spain and will shortly be returned to the UK, where he faces 15 years behind bars on terror charges.
According to official reports, Kearns ran a network of men’s fitness groups linked to the extreme right nationalist group ‘Patriotic Alternative’ and hosted his classes via the instant messaging app Telegram, where he had garnered more than 1,800 followers. The controversial PA group was founded during the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests and currently has around 15,000 supporters online.
Kearns stands accused of spreading hate messages and encouraging acts of violence against non-white people on his Telegram group. The extremist’s lawyer argued that he should be tried in Spain since it is here that the messages originated, but the National Court has ordered his extradition back to the UK.
According to the Spanish court, the “supposedly criminal material was spread through social networks from his domicile in the province of Alicante addressed to subjects who were residing in the UK.
“The messages are all in English and to understand the relevance it is sometimes necessary to have an understanding of the ideology of the extreme UK right.”
On its website, the Patriotic Alternative movement focuses on the decline of ethnic Britons in the UK and the environmental impact of mass immigration.
Hope Not Hate, which details the dangers of groups like PA, reported that Kearns has taken a step back from his official role, but last year, while still highly involved, said:
“I want a cult. I want fanatics, people who are willing to die for this cause. That’s the level of commitment I want and expect [...] we want a hardcore group of people who know exactly what they want. It’s that simple”.
