ARCHIVED - Driving tests in Gibraltar can no longer be taken in a foreign language
The Gibraltar government has changed its driving test rules to only allow tests to be taken in English
As of Wednesday June 1, 2022 candidates taking their driving test in Gibraltar will no longer be able to use foreign language voiceovers and interpreters.
According to an announcement by HM Government of Gibraltar, no CBT test or module, nor theory or practical tests of any category may be conducted in any other language than British English.
For those Brits resident in Spain post-Brexit who can now not drive because they don’t have a Spanish driving licence, the theory test in Spain can be taken in English but you must know some rudimentary Spanish for the practical part in order to be able to follow simple instructions in the car.
