According to El Món a Rac1, the company has activated the protocol established for this type of incident with the collaboration of Civil Protection and the Medical Emergency System (SEM).
Fourteen people have so far been transferred to health centres with minor injuries, and early passenger reports suggest there was “a lot of fog” at the time of the crash.
A total of 18 fire engines of the Generalitat de Catalunya and ambulances were on the scene to help passengers.
The service on Rodalies lines R4, R7 and R 12 were interrupted in both directions.
The Civil Protection service has activated the Catalan railway emergency plan (Ferrocat) in the alert phase and Renfe has assured that the causes of the accident are being investigated.
