Barcelona-bound US plane has to turn around when passenger gets diarrhoea
One passenger’s diarrhoea forced the transatlantic flight to Spain to turn around due to a “biohazard”

The Delta Airlines Airbus A350, which departed on Friday September 1 from Atlanta and was bound for Barcelona, Spain was forced to turn around because of a severe bout of diarrhoea suffered by a passenger.
Airline sources explained that the pilot himself catalogued the situation as a “biohazard” and spoke to the control tower to ask for permission to return to the departure airport instead of continuing to Barcelona’s El Prat airport.
On arriving back in Atlanta, various workers spent several hours disinfecting the aircraft.
The mishap forced the flight times to be modified and many users took the incident with humour, unleashing a wave of memes online:
