Become a beach hero in Mojácar with free lifeguard experience this summer
The ‘Lifeguard for a Day’ campaign will visit three Mojácar beaches during August
Fancy learning how to save a life at the beach? Mojácar Town Council is giving residents and visitors the chance to become a "lifeguard for a day" this August.
The free campaign, organised through the Sea Classroom (Aula del Mar), aims to raise awareness of beach safety while giving participants a hands-on introduction to basic lifesaving skills.
Three sessions are planned during August, with each one starting at 11am.
The first takes place on Tuesday August 11 at Playa Lance Nuevo, followed by Playa Marina de la Torre on Thursday August 20 and Playa Venta El Bancal on Thursday August 27.
Participants will be shown how to use basic life support techniques and learn more about the role of lifeguards and the importance of acting quickly in an emergency.
The campaign is open to everyone and is free to take part, although places are limited. There's no need to register in advance as registration will take place on the beach on the day of each activity.
Anyone taking part will also receive a gift, while there will be a special prize draw as part of the campaign.
The initiative is part of Mojácar's 2026 beach awareness campaign and is designed to encourage people to think about safety while enjoying the municipality's beaches.
