Bridie Murphy's opening weekend a roaring success
The Camposol bar celebrated its opening with music, laughter and community spirit
Bridie Murphy’s, the newly rebranded bar in Camposol’s Sector B, marked its official opening with a spectacular weekend of live music, entertainment and a lively crowd that kept the celebrations going from start to finish.
The bar, formerly known as Bar Salud, has been given a fresh identity by new owners Nicola McArdle and her partner Declan, who took over in September 2024. The opening weekend, featuring top-class performances and an electric atmosphere, has cemented its place as a new local favourite.
Speaking about the weekend, Nicola expressed her gratitude to everyone who attended. “A huge thanks to everyone who made our name-changer weekend such a success. We’ll never be able to thank Sinéad and Dermot or The Fabulous Bonker Boys enough for coming the whole way over from Athlone to entertain us all here in Bridie Murphy’s,” she said.
“Massive thanks, too, to Mr Bernie Mac, Byron and Murphy’s House Band also. WHAT A PARTY!”
She also reserved special thanks for all those who travelled from near and far to perform to support them, with some even stepping in to help when needed. “Tracie and Jonathan stepped in to save us, and Majella worked all day Sunday even though she was meant to be here to enjoy herself,” Nicola shared.
She also had a special word for the bar’s “wonderful loyal customers, who we appreciate more than you’ll ever know and the hardest working bar staff ever.”
Bridie Murphy’s has already gained a reputation for its welcoming atmosphere, something Nicola and her team are passionate about maintaining. The bar is named after Nicola’s grandmother, who was known for her warmth and generosity, and they are keen to carry that on.
With the opening weekend now behind them, the team at Bridie Murphy’s are already looking ahead to the first anniversary party next January!
