Brit teen dies in Ibiza after falling from sixth floor balcony
Initial reports suggest the 19-year-old woman was under the influence of alcohol
The Balearic Islands have claimed yet another young British life after a 19-year-old woman from the UK plummeted to her death from a sixth-floor hotel balcony in Ibiza. The victim was holidaying in Sant Antoni when the tragic accident occurred at around 3am on Tuesday August 20.
According to the Guardia Civil, emergency services were called to the Hotel District in the early hours of the morning and quickly located the victim with the help of the hotel staff. They provided initial medical assistance but even then, the young woman was showing no signs of life.
Two ambulances arrived a short time later and although they too began resuscitation manoeuvres, they were only able to confirm the girl’s death. Her body was removed at 5.30am.
Initial reports from the investigation opened by the Guardia Civil indicate that the young woman may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of her fall. Two friends who were on holiday with the victim have been offered psychological support.
This accident comes just a day after a 28-year-old British tourist fell to his death in front of his girlfriend after a night out in Mallorca.
During the early hours of the morning, the young man and his partner were returning to their hotel, the Reverence Mare in Palma Nova, near Magaluf, after an evening out. However, tragedy struck as he tripped and fell over a wall by the hotel entrance, plummeting 15 feet to the ground next to the spa pool.
