Brit tourist dies after falling from Ibiza hotel balcony
The 35-year-old man fell from the second-floor terrace in the San Antonio neighbourhood
Another holiday has come to a tragic end for a British tourist who plunged to his death from an Ibiza balcony in the early hours of Tuesday morning, July 4.
According to local reports, the 35-year-old man fell from the second floor in the popular San Antonio district shortly after 3am. A horrified passerby phoned the emergency services and reported that the holidaymaker was lying on the ground beside a British supermarket, just a short distance from the beach.
A spokesperson for the Guardia Civil said: “I can confirm a 35-year-old British man died in San Antonio.
“The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.”
The emergency services arrived on the scene at 3.17am following initial reports that the man was unconscious, but he was already dead by the time the first ambulance arrived and there was nothing paramedics could do to save him.
Several witnesses saw the man standing on the apartment block balcony right before he plummeted over the edge.
This latest tragedy comes after 22-year-old John McKenna from Cumbria died on June 23 when he tumbled from a balcony while holidaying in the same resort, which is just a stone’s throw away from the famous O Beach Club in San Antonio.
Despite the best efforts of rescue workers, John was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after falling. The Carlisle City Sunday League player was staying at the three-star azuline Hotel Llevant when he died.
