British cyclist dies on the N-340 in Granada
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics

A 57-year-old British cyclist lost his life at midday last Thursday, November 6, while riding along the N-340 road near Almuñécar, in the province of Granada. The incident took place at kilometre 312 of this road, at one of the access points to the popular coastal town.
According to initial reports, the man, who was staying at a hotel in the neighbouring town of Nerja in Málaga, suffered a sudden collapse while cycling towards La Herradura. The emergency was reported to the 112 Andalucía service at 12.35pm, after receiving a call that initially pointed to a possible fall on the road.
Police and paramedics immediately rushed to the scene and found the man unconscious on the floor. They performed CPR but were ultimately unable to save his life.
The incident has caused consternation among cyclists who are currently touring the area, a popular destination for fans of the sport due to its climate and its coastal and mountain routes.
No further details have been released at this time regarding the man’s previous state of health, and the case will remain pending the corresponding medical reports.
