ARCHIVED - British graffiti artist leaves his mark in Murcia
This will be the artist’s third mural in the Region of Murcia
A British street artist, Dale Grimshaw, will be arriving in the Region of Murcia this Wednesday October 27 to begin painting a mural in Alcantarilla for the Hip-hop Culture and Urban Art Festival.
The festival, October 29 to 31, will see several renowned local and international urban artists visit the Region, as well as numerous rap performances.
Grimshaw, originally from London, has already left two pieces of art behind in the Region, one in Murcia, at the installations of the Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs of the Region of Murcia, and one in the municipality of Los Alcázares. The artist has painted high-quality murals across the world and uses a combination of spray paint and airbrushes.
This festival is just one of the events contained within the Murcia Street Art Project which aims to welcome street art and urban culture in the Region, turning Murcia into one of the graffiti hubs of Spain.
The town of Cartagena, where two local artists recently painted a mural on one of the municipality's main roundabouts, has also embraced urban culture and is set to host the National Graffiti League competition on November 20.
