British pensioner rescued after mountain fall in Mallorca
Firefighters carry 82-year-old to safety after serious leg injury near Port d'Andratx

The fall happened at around 5.00pm, while the man was walking with two friends. He was wearing footwear that was not suitable for the mountain route and unfortunately lost his footing. After the fall, he was in too much pain to carry on. His friends called 112 and gave the emergency services their exact location.
Andratx Local Police were first on the scene, followed shortly after by firefighters from Sóller and Santa Ponça. Once they reached the injured man, the fire crews immobilised his leg and carefully carried him down the mountain to where an ambulance was waiting.
He was then taken to a private clinic in Palma for treatment. While no further update on his condition has been given, his injuries were described as serious.
One of the emergency responders said, “He was lucky to be with people who acted quickly. Accidents like this can become much more serious if help is delayed or if someone is out walking alone.”
Emergency services often remind walkers, especially older visitors or those unfamiliar with the island, to wear proper footwear and take care when hiking in the more rugged parts of Mallorca.
