British teenager dies after collapsing at Ibiza nightclub
The 19-year-old was rushed to hospital on the Spanish island but died an hour later
A 19-year-old British teen has died after collapsing at an Ibiza nightclub in the early hours of Thursday July 27. The youngster was partying at the famous Amnesia Club, located between San Antonio and Ibiza Town, which was hosting its weekly ‘Bresh’ night.
It’s understood that the man was in cardiac arrest when paramedics arrived at the scene and he was rushed to Can Misses hospital shortly after dawn, but he passed away just an hour later.
A health source confirmed that the deceased was a “19-year-old British national” but it’s not yet clear whether he was on holiday in Ibiza or lived on the island.
He said: “The initial call came in at 4.50am this morning.
“Emergency responders were asked to attend a nightspot on the road between San Antonio and Ibiza Town where a 19-year-old man had gone into cardiac arrest.
“He was brought out of cardiac arrest by the responders at the scene and stabilised before being transferred to Can Misses Hospital.
“He was admitted to A&E at Can Misses at 6.30am but was confirmed dead at 7.22am today despite attempts to save him.'
A police spokesperson said an investigation has been opened into the boy’s death and they are awaiting the results of a post-mortem.
Earlier this week, a 22-year-old German woman was found dead in a hotel bed in nearby San Antonio. According to the Guardia Civil, who responded to the emergency call, a friend found the girl in her bed at 8.55am and panicked when she couldn’t wake her.
Hotel staff carried out CPR on the woman while waiting for an ambulance but sadly, the girl died at the scene.
An autopsy has been arranged to establish the cause of death.
