Cehegín Auditorio del Parque Juan Carlos I

Cehegín, the open air auditorium is used during summer months

The auditorium in the Parque Juan Carlos I, in Cehegín, is an open-air facility which hosts various of the cultural events which are held in the town during the summer months.

The quadrangular stage is raised above ground level, and a raised terraced area accommodates spectators. Seats are placed here for those attending the events held, and the maximum capacity is between 2,000 and 3,000 depending on the event in question.

Access to the area is free all year round, but the Town Hall organizes events here frequently during the summer, in July, August and September. In the school holidays, in July and August, there are numerous activities for children at weekends, especially theatre and other drama activities.

In September the auditorium is made use of during the Fair and Fiestas in honour of the Virgen de las Maravillas, the patron saint of Cehegín. The events celebrated here include orchestral concerts, and the Cehegín International Folklore Festival is perhaps the most important annual event at the venue. This also takes place during the fiestas of the patron saint.
